While electronic communications do cost something, they don’t come close to the costs of printing and mailing our paper announcements; each one you receive costs almost two dollars. To encourage the use of electronic media over paper, not to mention all those mushy “green” reasons, we reward those who are comfortable only receiving e-mail and web communications with much lower dues than those that also desire paper mailers.
